Tech Reformers AWS Well-Architected Framework Review (WAFR) provides guidance on best practices for building and running secure, reliable, and cost-efficient applications on AWS. AWS Well-Architected provides a consistent approach to evaluate architectures and implement designs that can scale over time. The AWS Well-Architected Framework (WAFR) is a set of best practices and guidelines that enable organizations to build and operate applications and infrastructure on the AWS cloud.

What is the AWS Well-Architected Framework?

The security pillar focuses on protecting information and systems. Key topics include confidentiality and integrity of data, managing user permissions, and establishing controls to detect security events.

The AWS Well-Architected Framework is a set of best practices that Amazon recommends for building and operating secure, reliable, efficient, and cost-effective systems in the cloud. It is based on six essential pillars to a successful cloud architecture: Operational Excellence, Security, Reliability, Performance Efficiency, Cost Optimization, and Sustainability. The AWS white paper delves into each pillar.

What is the Tech Reformers WAFR process?

WAFR

Process

The main objective of the review is to provide a clear understanding of the state of AWS workloads mapped against AWS design principles and best practices.

We will help you identify workloads to be reviewed, from simple static websites to complex microservices architectures with multiple data stores and many components.

  • 1-2 hours

We conduct and interactive interview with your staff with topics from the Well-Architected Framework. Optionally, with read-only access to the workload, we audit your configuration.

A report is produced aligning the workload with AWS best practices. Items are categorized as Critical, Needs Improvement, or Meets Best Practice, along with an action plan for all remediation.

  • 8-16 hours

At the end of the two-week assessment, our certified AWS solution architects will generate a report including remediation recommendations to mitigate risk and improve their workloads. This review will combine a discovery meeting, interviews with key stakeholders, and data analysis.

The WAFR will conclude by presenting and delivering the full Well-Architected Review report. Customers will follow a prioritized remediation roadmap of short-, medium-, and long-term remediation goals based on the core Framework pillars provided by Ingram Micro AWS experts with an accurate SOW for the implementation cost.

  • 4-8 hours

The Well-Architected Framework Review starts at $5,000.
